The Parkinson’s Jubilee Garden. What is it? Where is it?

If you should find yourself at the wonderful Haven Centre in Crawley Down, you may well notice the beautiful array of lovely plants, shrubs and flowers in the beds just by the entrance. There are two small plots as you approach the building and with the kind permission and donation of the Haven Centre, these have been transformed from patches of unkempt shrubbery to things of beauty!

Here is the story of how it all started.

The Haven Centre
Before
Before

Gardening is a very therapeutic and enjoyable activity. Our group were looking for a small project that our members could become involved in. Thanks to the donation of the small plots by The Haven Centre back in 2021, our plans started to take place.

The original and rather boring shrubbery was dug out by a wonderful team of volunteers and helpers.

Our garden started to take shape, and was officially recognised and supported by The Town Mayor. Now with some funding and amazing support from a number of local businesses, the garden project was in full swing!

Momentum was gathering, as was the support.

So where are we now? What happened? Come back to see further progress reports on this page, and we will keep you updated on the journey of the Parkinson’s Garden.
